Cycle for Hartlee Field

Join us in Denton community ride starting downtown at the Courthouse then riding to rural Northeast Denton area by Clear Creek Natural Heritage Center. We will then head back to the Courthouse for a short peaceful protest to show our unity and opposition to aggressive development of the unique and historic Hartlee Field area, historic World War II aircraft hangars and airfield, and 826 acres of vital wildlife habitat and water resources.

Denton Plan 2040 Virtual Charrette

denton 2040 image.jpg

The City of Denton’s Comprehensive Plan is an official planning policy document designed to guide the city’s future growth. Please plan to attend the City of Denton's second Denton Plan 2040 virtual community meeting (charrette*) on Wednesday, May 26 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. This is your chance to provide your feedback specifically on infrastructure and new growth areas, as well as on economic development and Downtown Denton! You must register at least 24 hours in advance. See below for more information and the link.

Watching the City Council Work Session from Tuesday, May 18 on the Denton Plan 2040 (see link below), it was apparent that there are a lot of non-resident stakeholders (i.e., developers and real estate interests) trying to exert developer-friendly changes to the Denton Plan 2030. This is why it's so important to participate in the updating process of the Denton Plan 2030/2040 and to attend this community meeting. Residents' voices need to be heard strongly; otherwise, the Denton Plan 2040 will reflect standards easier for high-density developers to come in and build, especially in the rural areas.

City of Denton Election

City of Denton Election

Get out and vote in the City of Denton Election on May 1st between 7am and 7pm. https://www.cityofdenton.com/en-us/residents/make-a-difference/vote

Most members of the North Denton Neighborhood Association are not able to vote as we technically live in the county (in the ETJ), not the city. While we do not officially endorse any candidate, if we could vote for anyone in District 2, many of us have found Brian Beck very supportive of our cause. https://www.beckfordenton.com/
